
Adult Sailing Lessons
Adult classes include 2 ½ hours of sailing and 1/2 hour of classroom work
each week. Staff consists of 5 seasoned instructors and 4 junior sailing
instructors for a total of 9. Sailing and teaching are on Cape Cod
Mercuries, 15' fiberglass keel boats with a main and jib.
Spinnakers are also used with advanced classes.

Instruction levels
BEGINNER – learn to sail, no experience necessary. Instructor in boat
at all times. Basics of tacking, gibing, sail trim, etc.
Safety on the water is emphasized.
INTERMEDIATE – improve boat handling skills. Tacking, gibing,
reaching, running, sail trim, docking, mooring, matching
sails, man overboard, etc covered. Previous sailing
experience necessary.
ADVANCED – experienced sailors to sharpen skills. Fine points of
sailing are covered in detail. Introductory racing,
spinnaker setting and trimming also covered.
