BYC SAILING AWARDS
The Bristol Yacht Club honors sailors who have made a lasting impact on the world of sailing with the following perpetual awards; the Enright Extraordinary Achievement Award and the Hall Trophy for Corinthian Excellence. These awards are named after Charlie Enright and Eric and Ben Hall, members of the Bristol Yacht Club.
Enright Extraordinary Achievement Award

The Enright Extraordinary Achievement in Offshore Sailing Award recognizes Charlie Enright an accomplished sailor and an advocate of the sport known for his leadership in the offshore racing community. He was the skipper of the first American team to win The Ocean Race in 2023. Enright’s career has been defined by his commitment to excellence, sustainability, and inspiring the next generation of American sailors.
The purpose of the Enright Award is to recognize exceptional individual or team achievements of Bristol Yacht Club members in offshore racing and distance sailing

Hall Trophy for Corinthian Excellence

The Hall Trophy for Corinthian Excellence honors Eric Hall and Ben Hall, Sailing Hall of Fame inductees and their distinguished sailing and professional careers as innovators in sailboat design and manufacturing and revolutionized sailing by pioneering advanced composite materials, like carbon fiber and autoclave-cured prepreg, for yacht rigging.

The purpose of the Hall Trophy is to recognize a Bristol Yacht Club member (s) or sailing teams, with extraordinary achievements in inshore Corinthian sailboat racing events. The award honors not only competitive success, but also sportsmanship, dedication, and spirit.
